When forwarding a message that contains an attachment, please be sure you select "As Attachment" by clicking on the down arrow next to the "Forward" button. If you forward a message with the "Inline Text" option selected, your attachment(s) will not be included with the message.

If you would like to send an attachment you've received without the original email, you will need to download the file and attach it to a new message.

What is the difference between a download and a upload?

Well, "download" means receive, and "upload" means send so when you get something from a website you are downloading it. When you add a digital photo to a email you are uploading it!

Phishing is Fishing for Information

No one will ever ask you for your password, social security number or credit card information in an email ;that is, a bank or anyone that you normally do business with.! It is not safe to send this kind of information in an email because it is not secure (secure means that it does not have a special web page that can only be seen by you). They would know that information anyway. If they are asking for this information you should be very leary. Never give out your personal information to a place the asks in an email and do not go to a link from an email and think that you are at the sign in page, they may just be trying to get your password! Always be careful when answering a email that asks for more information then you are willing to give out in public. Think of email as post card type mail not a sealed letter.

How To Spot an Email Hoax

Without researching the factual claims made in a forwarded email there's no 100 percent sure way to tell it if it's a hoax, but here you'll find a list of common signs to watch for...
Here's How:
1.   Note whether the text you've received was actually written by the person who sent it. Did anyone sign their name to it? If not, be skeptical.
2.   Look for the telltale phrase, 'Forward this to everyone you know!' The more urgent the plea, the more suspect the message.
3.   Look for statements like 'This is NOT a hoax' or 'This is NOT an urban legend.' They typically mean the opposite of what they say.
4.   Watch for overly emphatic language, as well as frequent use of UPPERCASE LETTERS and multiple exclamation points!!!!!!!
5.   If the text seems aimed more at persuading than informing the reader, be suspicious. Like propagandists, hoaxers are more interested in pushing people's emotional buttons than communicating accurate information

Top Five Spyware Threats to Internet Security:
Spyware means any program that can change your computer system while gathering information about your activities while you are on the computer. The information is usually sent to the spyware creator via your internet connection without your knowledge. In order for it to work correctly, it must be able to run without the user shutting the computer down. Being hidden also helps the program to get installed in the first place. Because of this, spyware is usually disguised as a Trojan horse. This is a program that quietly runs in the background, inviting the user to run it, while spreading its malicious code. This code can do any number of things. It can start right away or it may simply install a program that won't start for sometime. Once it does start, it can delete all of the files on the computer or it can infect the computer and try to infect other computers on the network. There are a number of ways spyware is delivered, and as a Trojan horse is the most common. It usually comes with other pieces of software that a user might find interesting.  ................Read more here

What is an AVATAR?
An avatar is............
An avatar is most commonly used in web forums / chat rooms and is a graphic illustration that you choose to display.

Often if you are asked for a profile picture an avatar can be used.
Most people use avatars to show there personality more then the actual face. Especially if you do not want your face out on the web. This option is safer then placing a photo of yourself on your profile or in your messenger.

If you would like to have a cartoon as an avatar here is a link to a site that you can design your own  Cartoon maker
This site may look intimidating at first but just click around and you may find yourself designing the perfect cartoon to match your personal image!

If you are not quiet ready to start designing your own I have a few that you can use for free.

HOW TO SAVE AVATARS:
Just use your mouse to click the image. Use the right side of your mouse and a menu will pop up under your pointer. Then pick save picture as and it will  be saved to your my pictures file.

These avatars are 100x100 pixels. That means they are about a inch by an inch. This size is standard for avatars but if you need them smaller just email me and I will resize them for you and email one to you.
